About EAUCHELLE

Eauchelle pronounced Oh-shell, was established because we believe in the Internet as a growing force in the world economy, it will become a major influence in everyday life, and we can make a positive contribution.

We are a British company, the choice of name came about because of the difficulty in finding a recognisable name that had not already been registered. So we produced a brief for ourselves, then set about developing a name that fitted our brief.

Our policy at Eauchelle is to be honest, use our integrity, provide quality and to maintain a thorough understanding of the Internet, both technical and practical.

Honesty

We will be open and honest with you at all times. If we experience difficulties during design/construction, we will advise you of the problems and provide you with our work-around proposal. We will advise you of any time penalty incurred because of these difficulties.

If on initial assessment of the potential project we believe that for any reason we are unable, or not best suited to meet your requirements, we will inform you of the reasons.

We will not make a commitment unless we believe we can deliver.

Integrity

We believe that web sites have a role to play whether it's for business or personal use. In order to fulfil that role the site must be developed with the goals for the site fully established. It would be relatively easy to put a site together based on your company logo and the latest company brochure. If this were the case then we win you lose, we get paid to do an easy job - win, you end up with a drain on your resources - lose.

For us building a web site is a win - win situation. We get paid for doing the things we enjoy, you get a web site that will promote your company, a site that will help to bring new business, and a site that will aid your existing customers.

Quality

We will build a web site that is accessible by the maximum number of users within a defined audience. Because of the range of Internet browsers and their different versions, it must be accepted that some users will not get the full effect of the site design. There are still a number of older browsers and text only browsers that cannot or will not support some of the techniques now considered standard. This is the users choice, we must respect that choice and provide them with as much information as we can.

Understanding

There are a number of important issues that have to be taken into consideration when designing a web site. Here are a few of the important ones;

• Information architecture, not only what is in the site but also how it is used.
  
  
• Accessibility, the users can communicate with you via the site.
  
  
• Navigation, often navigation is obvious to the people that built the site, but not to the user. Site navigation must be obvious to someone who has not seen the site before.
  
  
• Optimisation of file size to aid speed of download for the user, e.g. use graphics because they add to the message, not just because we like them.
  
  
• Fulfil your customers' expectations of you, let them get what they need from you.
